Eric Bettencourt |
| Eric Bettencourt is a songwriter at heart, expertly crafting a wide range of tunes around his scratchy, Janis Joplin-esque voice. Whether equipped with just an acoustic guitar, or with his whole backing band, Bettencourt combines folk, blues, and classic rock elements into always-pleasing melodic concoctions. He has admittedly learned from the rock gods themselves — Hendrix, Clapton, Page, Dylan — but is able to stay contemporary, also drawing on current artists like Iron and Wine and Ray LaMontagne. Combining guitar chops with lyrical prowess is a proven recipe for success and Bettencourt isn’t afraid to go with what works. However, he still brings ingenuity to his tracks, often using unconventional arrangements. A staple in the Portland scene, Bettencourt is also a producer and runs his own record label Shadow Shine Records.” | |

Amanda Gervasi |
| Maine-grown artist Amanda Gervasi’s insightful lyrics and intensity on-stage bring an audience to close attention while encouraging a look into themselves. With a folk-rock, roots and blues appreciation, her songs reveal a comfortable blend of her influences and originality. Amanda first drew inspiration from pre-international performer Ray Lamontagne, citing a 2004 State Theater show as one that sparked a “switching of the life-plan gears.” After a few years of traveling and sampling university (for good measure), she made the decision move to Portland and begin the musical pursuit of happiness. Within a short year, Amanda had a slew of reputable shows under her belt, performing shows at Port City Music Hall, SPACE, The Big Easy, Empire Dine and Dance, Blue, Slainte and Northstar Music Café among others. In addition to her solo-project, in late 2009 she became the newest member/lead singer of Gypsy Tailwind, recording two albums simultaneously and doubling her performance schedule. July 24th, 2010 marks the long-anticipated release of Amanda Gervasi’s debut album, “Merry the Ghost,” an album that explores the fine-line between love and insanity while allowing the listener an inside view of a passionate artist who has something to say. | |

Skyler |
| Third grade. Recess. As most kids wait anxiously for their turn on the slide, ride on the zip line, or shot at the four square court, another group forms around a solitary raised platform. At any other time of day, this spot would be unremarkable. But after lunch, at this elementary school, it is transformed into a stage… where Skyler would perform. And from nearby this makeshift venue, educators can witness a mini “Hard Day’s Night” moment.
From these unusual beginnings, it should be no surprise that by 6th grade, Skyler was a multi-instrumentalist; by 7th grade, he was sleeping on the couch, so as not disturb the sanctity of the recording studio that his bedroom had become; or that by 9th grade, he had released his first full-length, all original CD. There have been many other stops: four more original CDs before high school graduation, 20 professional and repertory theatre productions, over 250 gigs, and a year at Berklee College of Music. With the release of the EP, Long Gone, — recorded and produced by Jonathan Wyman (Halo Studios) and mastered by Adam Ayan (Gateway Mastering) — Skyler and the band are currently looking for their spot on the playground. Come out to a show and be ready to have a “Hard Day’s Night” moment of your own. |
